For me, self-awareness is knowing that I can choose the path I want to go on. Knowing that I can choose to do something other than what I was doing before. When you have this awareness, you can have this sense of purpose, a sense of purpose that is not tied to a specific goal.
You can choose to do something else. You can choose to do something more important than what you were doing before. You can choose to do something that will lead you to a better future. Self-awareness is knowing that you can choose who you want to be.
