I moved to Atlanta in 2009 and I haven’t been back since I moved back, but in February I took my wife to visit and I was like, “I’m going to move back to Atlanta!” For a while. Then I thought, “I’m not going to miss all of the craziness of Atlanta!” That’s when I moved to dayton.
Dayton’s a pretty cool place. It’s a pretty nice city and it’s got tons of great restaurants. It’s a city with a lot of history, and you can’t beat the cost of living. There’s a lot of people who are looking for a new, quieter lifestyle, but I agree with you that dayton is really cool.

And it has lots of great people. There are a lot of people looking for an even quieter lifestyle in the southeast. Not everyone who lives in dayton wants to live on a tree farm out in the woods, but many people do.
Well, I think it’s a fine place to live, and I don’t think anyone who lives there would mind living there in some peace and quiet. And if they don’t want to live there, I can understand that. But to say that they wouldn’t mind living there because it’s “noisey” is ridiculous.
The problem is that we could have a much louder, and thus, more distracting, urban lifestyle here in the south. Not only is it less quiet, but it’s also not as cheap. I’m not saying it’s never the right place to live, but I definitely don’t think it’s a good environment for families. And honestly, it’s not that big of a deal because we don’t need a loud environment to have a quieter environment.
We need more than noise. We also need more than a louder environment. A loud environment will make us feel that everything is being taken away from us. A quieter environment will make us feel that we have a choice whether or not to move. A quieter environment will make us feel that we have a choice of how loud we are.
I’m not sure I like the idea of a quiet destination. Maybe it would be nice to have a peaceful destination that is so peaceful it’s not even dangerous. It could be a place where no one is in fear of dying. It could be a place where none of the people there are afraid of dying. No one here is afraid of dying and no one here is afraid of living. No one here is afraid of being alive.
